Grooved tee short radius fittings provide a 90-degree branch connection from a main pipe run while minimising the overall installation length of the fitting. This compact geometry is particularly useful in tight service corridors, plant rooms and retrofit projects where space is limited and routing efficiency is critical.
The grooved connection system uses a ductile iron housing and elastomer gasket, which is compressed around the pipe ends using a bolted coupling assembly. Once tightened, the gasket forms a pressure-responsive seal that improves under internal system pressure, ensuring reliable leak resistance without welding or threading.
Manufactured from ductile iron, these fittings provide high mechanical strength, impact resistance and durability under both static and dynamic loading conditions. Grooved systems are commonly designed for working pressures up to approximately 20–35 bar depending on size, coupling type and system specification, making them suitable for demanding mechanical and fire protection applications.
