The Lindapter Multiwedge 2 (Type MW2) is a specialist decking fixing designed for use with Kingspan® Multideck 60 and Multideck 80 profiles. It provides a safe and reliable method of suspending building services from composite steel decking without the need for drilling or welding, preserving deck integrity while ensuring a strong load-bearing connection.
Engineered for speed, safety and adjustability, the MW2 is widely used in modern steel-framed construction for mechanical, electrical and building services installations.
• Designed for Kingspan® Multideck 60 and 80 profiles
• Provides a secure, drill-free fixing into re-entrant decking channels
• Suitable for M6, M8 and M10 threaded rod applications
• Quick and simple installation with minimal tools required
• Adjustable positioning for accurate alignment of services
• Fire-rated solution suitable for building services applications
The Lindapter Multiwedge 2 consists of a two-part assembly: a pre-galvanised steel locking plate and a malleable iron wedge finished in bright zinc plating (BZP). Together, these components form a secure mechanical fixing within the dovetail-shaped re-entrant channel of composite metal decking.
Once installed, the wedge is rotated to lock against the internal channel walls, creating a strong anchoring point for suspended threaded rod systems. This allows building services such as pipework, cable trays, ducting and HVAC systems to be safely supported without penetrating or damaging the decking structure.
The system is designed to be installed after the concrete deck has been poured and has reached full strength, ensuring structural integrity is maintained throughout the construction process.
Typical working load capacity is approximately 1.47kN, depending on configuration and installation conditions, making it suitable for a wide range of suspended service applications.
1. Pre-assemble the locking plate and wedge (flat surface facing upwards) onto the threaded rod.
2. Insert the assembly into the re-entrant channel of the decking profile.
3. Rotate the wedge 90° to engage securely within the channel.
4. Slide into the final position and tighten the lock nut beneath the plate to secure the assembly.
Ideal for suspended mechanical and electrical services in steel-framed buildings, including pipe supports, cable management systems, HVAC installations and general building services where a fast, non-invasive decking fixing is required.
