Hollow Plugs

Hollow Plugs are threaded pipe fittings used to blank off or terminate the end of a pipeline or unused threaded outlet. Manufactured from malleable iron with a male BSPT threaded end, they provide a strong, pressure-resistant sealing solution across a wide range of mechanical, fire protection and industrial applications.

Product Description

Hollow Plugs are designed to seal the end of BSP threaded pipework, preventing leakage and protecting systems from contamination or unwanted flow. They are typically manufactured from malleable iron, offering a combination of strength and toughness that performs well under tightening torque and system pressure conditions.

 
The male BSPT (tapered) thread allows the plug to be screwed directly into a female threaded fitting or pipe end, creating a tight mechanical seal. When installed with suitable jointing compound or PTFE tape, they provide a reliable and leak-resistant closure suitable for a variety of service environments.

 
These fittings are widely used across plumbing, heating, fire sprinkler systems, gas, oil and compressed air installations. They are particularly useful for terminating unused outlets, isolating sections of pipework during maintenance, or sealing systems before commissioning.
