Hex Nipples are straight, male-to-male pipe fittings used to join two female BSP threaded components in a single inline connection. Featuring a central hexagonal section, they allow for easy tightening and removal using standard tools, even in confined installation spaces.
Manufactured from malleable iron, they provide a strong and reliable solution for a wide range of mechanical, fire protection and industrial pipework applications.
• Male-to-male BSP threaded connection
• Central hex body for easy spanner tightening
• Compact design for confined installations
• Manufactured from durable malleable iron
• Strong, leak-resistant threaded engagement
• Suitable for a wide range of pipework systems
• Available in corrosion-resistant finishes
Hex Nipples are used to connect two female threaded fittings or components in a straight line, providing a simple and effective way to extend or join pipework systems. The central hexagonal section allows for secure tightening with a spanner, ensuring controlled installation and easy maintenance access.
Typically manufactured with BSPT male threads on both ends, hex nipples create a reliable, pressure-resistant joint when installed with appropriate sealing compounds or PTFE tape. The tapered thread design ensures a tight mechanical seal, suitable for a variety of service conditions.
Made from malleable iron, these fittings offer excellent strength combined with a degree of flexibility, helping them withstand vibration, mechanical stress and installation torque without failure. This makes them suitable for both static and dynamic pipework systems.
Hex nipples are widely used across fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, HVAC installations and industrial pipework where compact, inline connections are required. Their short overall length makes them particularly useful in tight spaces where standard couplings would be too bulky.
Available in Black (self-colour) and Hot Dip Galvanised (HDG), they can be selected based on environmental requirements, with galvanised options offering enhanced corrosion resistance for external or more demanding applications.
Ideal for fire sprinkler systems, plumbing, heating, gas and oil pipework, HVAC installations and general industrial services where compact male-to-male threaded connections are required.
