Hex Bush

Hex Bushes (also known as reducing bushes) are threaded pipe fittings used to connect two different BSP sizes in a single, compact component. Product Description

Hex Bushes are designed to reduce BSP thread sizes within a pipeline in a single, efficient fitting. The external hexagon profile allows for easy installation using a standard spanner, even in confined spaces, ensuring a secure and controlled tightening process.

 
Each fitting typically features a male BSPT thread on the outer section and a female BSPT thread internally, enabling a direct reduction between differing pipe sizes while maintaining a strong, pressure-resistant joint. When installed with appropriate sealing compounds or PTFE tape, they provide a reliable leak-tight connection suitable for demanding service conditions.

 
Manufactured from malleable iron, hex reducing bushes offer a combination of strength and ductility, helping them withstand mechanical stress, vibration and installation torque without cracking. This makes them well suited to both static and dynamic pipework systems.
