Grooved Blanks (also referred to as grooved end caps) are used to permanently or temporarily seal the end of a grooved pipe system. They provide a reliable method of isolating pipework while maintaining the benefits of a mechanical grooved connection system.

 
Manufactured from ductile iron and supplied in red painted or hot dip galvanised finishes, they are widely used in fire protection, HVAC, water distribution and industrial pipework applications.

Product Description

Grooved blanks are designed to close off the end of a grooved pipeline, creating a sealed termination point within the system. They are installed using a mechanical grooved coupling, where a rubber gasket is compressed between the pipe and blank housing to form a secure, leak-resistant seal without the need for welding or threading.

 
Manufactured from ductile iron, these fittings offer excellent mechanical strength, impact resistance and durability, making them suitable for demanding service conditions. The grooved system allows for fast installation and easy removal if future system modifications are required.

 
Once installed, the blank effectively isolates the pipework section, allowing for pressure testing, system expansion or permanent closure depending on application requirements. The mechanical jointing method also allows for some flexibility and tolerance within the system, reducing installation stress.
