Product Description
End Caps are designed to seal the end of a threaded pipe run, preventing the escape of fluids or gases and protecting the system from contamination. They are typically manufactured from malleable cast iron, which provides a strong yet slightly ductile structure, reducing the risk of cracking under tightening or pressure fluctuations.
Most malleable iron end caps feature BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) female threads, allowing them to be screwed directly onto male threaded pipe ends. When installed with appropriate sealing compounds or PTFE tape, they create a secure and reliable seal suitable for a wide range of service conditions.
These fittings are widely used across plumbing, heating, fire sprinkler and industrial pipework systems, where they are often used to terminate unused outlets, isolate sections of pipework, or seal systems during testing and maintenance. They are also commonly specified in gas, oil and compressed air applications due to their robustness and reliability.
Manufactured to recognised standards such as BS EN 10242, malleable iron end caps are designed for consistent performance and compatibility with standard steel pipe systems. They typically offer pressure ratings up to around 25 bar, depending on specification and installation conditions.

All of our Malleable Iron Pipe Fittings are PN25 (25 Bar) pressure-rated, and have an operating temperature range between -20°C & 300°C. If the operating pressure exceeds 20 Bar, the maximum temperature should NOT exceed 120°C.
