Coach Screws are robust, heavy-duty timber fasteners designed for structural fixing applications where high strength and reliability are required. Featuring a hexagonal head for high torque installation, they are commonly used for fixing timber-to-timber, metal-to-timber, and timber-to-masonry (with suitable plugs).
Manufactured in a BZP (Bright Zinc Plated) finish, they provide a clean protective coating suitable for general internal and lightly exposed environments.
• Hex head design for high torque installation
• Heavy-duty coarse thread for strong timber engagement
• Suitable for timber, metal and masonry (with plugs)
• BZP finish for corrosion resistance in general use
• Compatible with washers for improved load distribution
• Ideal for structural and construction applications
Coach Screws are large-format timber fixings designed for applications requiring significantly higher strength than standard wood screws. With a thick shank and deep coarse thread, they are engineered to bite firmly into timber, creating a strong mechanical hold capable of resisting pull-out and shear loads.
The hexagonal head allows for high torque installation using a spanner or socket, enabling secure tightening even in demanding structural applications. This makes them particularly effective for heavy-duty assemblies where consistent clamping force is required.
Commonly used in construction and installation work, coach screws are suitable for securing timber frames, brackets, ironmongery and metal components to timber. When used with appropriate wall plugs, they can also be fixed into masonry substrates such as brick, block and concrete.
A Bright Zinc Plated (BZP) finish provides a protective coating that helps resist corrosion in standard indoor and lightly exposed environments, making it suitable for general construction and maintenance applications where heavy-duty performance is required without full external-grade galvanising.
Ideal for structural timber fixing, metal-to-timber connections, fencing, landscaping, bracket installation and general construction work. Can also be used in masonry applications when paired with suitable wall plugs.
