Product Description

Barrel Nipples are short, straight pipe fittings with male BSP threads at both ends, designed to connect two female threaded fittings in line. They are widely used in pipework systems where compact connections are required, or where equipment needs to be joined or extended without altering alignment.

 
Manufactured from malleable iron, barrel nipples offer a combination of strength and ductility, making them suitable for threaded systems that may be subject to vibration, thermal movement or general service stresses. This material choice helps reduce the risk of cracking compared to more brittle cast iron alternatives.

 
The BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) threaded ends provide a secure, pressure-resistant seal when installed with appropriate sealing compounds or PTFE tape. This ensures reliable performance across water, air, oil and fire protection applications.
