45° M&F Elbows are threaded pipe fittings used to change the direction of flow by 45 degrees while connecting male and female threaded pipe ends. This configuration allows for direct connection between different threaded components without the need for additional fittings.
Manufactured from malleable iron and typically supplied with BSP threaded ends, they provide a strong, reliable and versatile solution for fire protection, mechanical and industrial pipework systems.
• 45° angle for smooth directional change
• Male x Female BSP threaded configuration
• Strong, leak-resistant threaded connection
• Manufactured from durable malleable iron
• Suitable for water, gas, oil and fire protection systems
• Available in black and galvanised finishes
45° M&F Elbows are designed to connect two pipe components at a 45-degree angle while incorporating a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other. This allows for direct installation between fittings or pipe sections without requiring a separate nipple or coupling, simplifying system design and reducing installation time.
Manufactured from malleable cast iron, these fittings offer excellent strength combined with a degree of ductility, making them well suited to threaded pipe systems. They are commonly produced in accordance with recognised standards such as BS EN 10242 and ISO 49, ensuring consistent quality and compatibility with standard pipework systems.
The threaded configuration typically consists of a tapered male thread and a corresponding female thread (often BSPT), creating a tight, secure seal when installed with appropriate jointing compounds. This tapered design improves sealing performance compared to parallel thread alternatives.
Many variants feature reinforced (banded) construction around the outlets, providing additional strength and durability under pressure. These fittings are commonly rated for working pressures up to approximately 25 bar, with operating temperature ranges suitable for a wide variety of mechanical and industrial applications.
Available in black (self-colour) or galvanised finishes, 45° M&F elbows can be selected based on environmental requirements. Black fittings are typically used in fire protection systems or where post-installation coating is applied, while galvanised options provide enhanced corrosion resistance for exposed or water-based systems.
Ideal for use in fire sprinkler systems, heating installations, gas and oil pipework, HVAC systems and general mechanical services where a 45° directional change and mixed threaded connection are required.
